Should I specify the 8-speed autobox for my new BMW 435i?

I have just ordered a 435i M-Sport and now have a few days in which to decide whether or not I should go for the 8-speed autobox. I have always been a 'stick' man but think I should move into the brave new world. Just about every road tester sings its praises. I would be interested in your opinion.

Yes. Seems to be in everything these days, Audis and Jaguars as well as BMWs. But you need to be a left-foot braker to take full advantage. The whole point is not having to do two different things with your right foot when entering a corner. Not having a clutch pedal frees the left foot to do the braking. See Steve Sutcliffe's Autocar video of the new 911 RS PDK.
