What do you think of the Porsche Boxster?

I have always been interested in a Porsche Boxster without doing anything about it. At age 77 this is possibly my last chance. At present I have a 2007 Mercedes-Benz CLK with 45,000 miles and I would appreciate your thoughts, positive and negative, about this model Porsche.

There was more trouble with the 1996-2004 Boxster 986 than there has been with the 2005-2012 Boxster 987: www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar/porsche/boxster-986-.../ and www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar/porsche/boxster-987-.../

Buy only from a genuine Porsche specialist with a decent workshop, Porsche tools and offering a proper warranty.
