Can you recommend someone to inspect my Mercedes-Benz A-Class' rust problem?

Following last week’s Mercedes-Benz A-Class rust email and your reply I am now determined to press my claim with Mercedes again. Motor Codes has been unhelpful. I wish to get an expert opinion on my car's rust and paintwork before proceeding with my complaint. Do you know any such expert around Glasgow area in Scotland? I would be grateful for your help.

What do you mean "Motor Codes is unhelpful"? It's the Government Department of Fair Trading's approved means of helping car owners in disputes like yours. If it has been unhelpful you should complain to your MP. There are some expert witnesses in this FAQ: www.honestjohn.co.uk/faq/expert-witnesses/

You will, of course, have to pay substantially for the inspection and report and there is no guarantee that Mercedes-Benz will not fight back in the small claims track of the Sheriff's Court. Happily, the Small Claims limit has now been lifted to £10,000.
