Should I buy an Audi TT or a Volkswagen Eos?

I have been considering swapping my 2003 Ford Focus Mark I, 2.0 Zetec, owned from new, for a convertible. I would prefer to retain front wheel drive, 2.0-litre petrol engine (or near equivalent) and manual gearbox, and a used model up to two years old. I have been looking at the Volkswagen Eos and the Audi TT Roadster. Both seem to have plus and minus points: the TT is smaller and appears to have less boot space, although the Eos boot is restricted once the top is down and the Eos seems difficult to obtain petrol versions secondhand. My budget is around £20,000 but I would go a little higher for the right car. Finally, I would like something that is as fun to drive as my Focus. It hugs the road like it is on rails and has been the best car I have owned which is why I kept it for 10 years.

The Eos has a roof of many parts that is very difficult to completely seal. Really the current Golf convertible takes its place, which is the reason for it to be discontinued. I find TT roadsters a bit blustery, so take a top-down test in one before committing. Yes, there's a new TT on the way. I'd actually be looking at an Audi A3 convertible rather than a TT, a 1.8TFSI or 2.0TFSI. You then have the capability of carrying four rather than only two.
