Amazing customer service from Skoda Benfield's.

Early in March my wife bought a brand new Skoda Fabia. When we collected the car from Benfield Skoda in Harrogate the salesman advised us that a batch of these cars had a faulty rear window wiper. He checked my wife's car and it appeared ok, but he said he would order a replacement just in case. Sure enough when we got home the wiper had stopped working. We phoned the dealer and were told we would be advised as soon as the replacement came. Following repeated calls to Benfield's, the missing part was still not available. I simply and politely requested that a cheque be made out for the amount we had paid for the car, brought to my home and the car be taken away. Finally I was able to speak to the General Manager, Nigel Clayton, and I explained the situation. Within the hour he arrived at my front door, apologised profusely and handed me the keys to his own brand new top-of-the-range Skoda Superb Estate, complete with a tank full of fuel. Mr Clayton told us to keep the car until we were completely satisfied with the Fabia, which he drove away. A few days later the Fabia was fixed. Mr Clayton's actions restored our faith in Benfield's.

I received many reports of the problem you describe, but the fact your car was fixed in a couple of days tells me that the replacement parts are now coming through.
