Do Volkswagen and Skoda automatics share the same brake interlock problem?

Having a Skoda Fabia 1.2TSI 105 DSG on order, my attention was drawn to two of your recent answers: Your reply to BH of Norwich about turbo shim adjustment on a 1.2TSI engine in a Skoda Roomster and that to AS of Camberley on a 1.2TSI in a Volkswagen Polo, seem to be slightly different. Is the Volkswagen brake interlock the same problem as with the Skodas as, or is the software adjustment possible across the Skoda 1.2 TSI DSG range?

The turbo shim issue seems to have been specific to 1.2TSI 105s. But the brake interlock / brake light switch is a problem built into every DSG and s-tronic. I think it was VAG’s answer to the ‘Runaway Audi 5000s’ in the USA many years ago, but most automatics allow you to freely shift from N to D without having to touch the brakes.
