Parking ticket - should I pay?

I parked in a private car park today that was behind a shop, now closed. It is not a council car park. I paid £1 for an hour, but was seven mins late. I have since got a parking ticket. What do you think? Do I ignore and see if they do anything or pay the fine.

Strictly speaking you are in breach of your parking contract because you paid for 60 minutes, but were parked for 67 minutes. I think you should pay the £45. If you don't, there are three stages of appeal, the final one: the small claims track of the county court, but I doubt that the parking enforcers will take it that far.
