Insurance claim questions

Recently someone crashed into my car, which was parked on a residential street while I was at work. My insurer says there should be no dispute and it was not my fault. Because I do not have comprehensive cover, they referred me to a credit hire/repair company, whose costs will be claimed against the at faulty party.

On Friday I made an appointment for the repair centre to pick my car up Monday morning, I explained to the credit hire company that I will need a replacement car for the weekend for day-to-day use. Today (Wednesday) I called up the repair centre for an update on the estimation - they inform me that my car is total loss and they are awaiting authorisation from my insurer.

My questions are:
1) How long am I entitled to the replacement car, for free?

2) If the payment the at fault insurers offer me is unreasonable/unacceptable, who may I take this up with? Financial Ombudsman? or other?

3) Will I be able to seek compensation from the at fault party for any of the following:
a) Loss of use of car? - e.g. between the time I must return the replacement car and until I can purchase a new suitable car (A suitable car may not be available right away)
b) Extra travel expenses?
c) Extra phone charges? - eg. long premium rate calls to various companies
d) Stress and inconvenience and loss of time caused?

If you have been supplied with a credit hire car by an accident management specialist at an inflated hire charge and the other party's insurer refuses to pay, you could become personally liable for the cost.
