Fire risk - oil dripping on exhaust manifold

My 1997 Land Rover Discovery TDI has 360,000 miles on the clock and the engine throws out quite a lot of oil. My local mechanic says the oil is falling on the exhaust manifold so there is a fire risk. What do you think?

There is a fire risk. I guess the head gasket needs replacing.
