Missing service history - what can I do?

I bought a Vauxhall Vectra 15 months ago, which was advertised with a full service history. However, I’ve never received the history from the dealer. I’ve called, emailed and sent letters, but they have never fulfilled their promise to find it. I’ve recently had to pay for a new flywheel and service. What action can I take?

Notify the dealer principal by post office special delivery that they have not fulfilled their contract to you and that without this service history the car is worth £1500 less than you paid.

They can therefore either supply the service history they originally contracted to supply, or pay you the £1500 value of the service history, or pay you for all the repairs and replacements the car has needed. Tell them that if they do not respond positively you will take their breach of contract to the small claims track of the county court. Law here: www.honestjohn.co.uk/faq/consumer-rights/

Far better than previous Vectra. Now with decent handling and an excellent ride. Plenty of safety kit. Roomy in the front. Big boot. Good looks.
