Can you recommend a small automatic car for a disabled driver?

My wife is mildly disabled and drives with hand controls. She currently has a 2004 Ford Fiesta 1.6 with an automatic gearbox. The time has come for a new car and she wants another automatic, no bigger than her Fiesta, with a petrol engine.

She drives only short distances, but we live in the Lake District, so a bit of power is necessary. Our nearest dealers are Audi, Toyota and Volkswagen. Can you recommend a good car, preferably with five doors?

Toyota stopped importing the Verso S, but the automatic version of that was very slow anyway. I can't recommend Audi/Volkswagen s-tronics and DSGs. So I'd point her towards a Ford B-Max 1.6 Powershift auto.
