Buying a used Jaguar XF - which engine is best?

I have just started a new business and need a large, automatic, diesel car that will eat the miles, return good fuel economy and also make a good impression with clients.

I am interested in a Jaguar XF 2.7D in a budget range of £12,000 to £17,000. What do you suggest I look for in terms of age, mileage and spec and where would be the most appropriate place to find a good example?

For that money you'll get a 3.0D 240 Premium Luxury. Don't need to go down to a 2.7.
