Buying winter tyres for a Tiguan?

For the last eight years I have used Michelin Primacy HP for summer and Alpins for winter (on a Saab 95 and then a Mondeo)

I now have a Tiguan 140 SE 4Motion (not for off-road) which came fitted with Dunlop Sport SP 01 235/55 R17 tyres.

For winter, I am considering fitting 16-inch wheels with 215\65 R16, as standard on the "S" model, with Michelin Alpin A4's.

I am also hoping that going to this size/profile will improve the ride comfort a little.

Is this a reasonable proposition, or are there any other tyres I should be considering?

Yes, makes total sense. The other way to go would be to fit Goodyear Vector 4 Seasons M&S tyres that are very good in snow and also good in high summer temperatures so can be left on all year round.
