Exporting and taxation

I'm an Indonesian, I have a plan to go to the UK and buy some Mercedes-Benz cars without paying the VAT. I will export the car outside UK, to my country Indonesia. But few days ago I called Mercedes-Benz UK asking about this and they said they won't let me export the cars and I won't get a VAT free price.

Please suggest what to do, because according to UK Customs rules - if a foreigner want to export the car, they are eligible for VAT free price?

MB appears to be trying to impose a restrictive practise on you here to preserve its own export market and its own MB concession in Indonesia. In the UK most MB franchises are owned by MB itself, so no way round it there. In the past it has been common to buy used 'VAT Qualifying' cars at auction (eg ex-demo, ex-rental, ex-lease), then export them and reclaim the UK VAT on export. To do this you will need a VAT registered UK partner. You could try Matt at Fairtrade Cars: www.fairtradecars.net/index.php/about But he, very sensibly, will only deal money upfront.
