Corroding rear axle trailing arm brackets

Is the MoT data post 2010 available or have VOSA pulled the shutters down again?

Reason: There is a Technical Service Bulletin (copy supplied on request by me) on rear axle trailing arm bracket rot on the Kia Sorento.

I want to dimension the problem because my observations suggests that ~10% of axle brackets have rotted away and need replacement. VOSA says there is no evidence of there being any problem with the TSB and have accepted Kia's 'Assurances' of 'adequacy' for an undefined 'purpose'.

VOSA and Kia seem to want to wait until there is an accident/injury/death while such as Nissan put out a Recall (Steering Bolt) even though there has not been an accident, as a preventative safety action.

2011 - 2013 MoT Data should show what the scale of the problem is. Either way, there appears to be a conflict in standards at least. Reports have been popping up for a year or more now of these brackets collapsing/rotting away.

A TSB is voluntarily issued by the manufacturer through its dealers to known owners of the car. That is owners known to the local dealer who regularly take their cars for service there. A VOSA vehicle safety recall goes out to all owners on the DVLA database. As you say, all there is on the VOSA database is: www.vosa.gov.uk/vosa/apps/recalls/searches/search....p Have raised the issue in the car by car entry.
