Which small car has space for a folding wheelchair?

I currently have a 58-reg Peugeot 107 but my father is increasingly needing to use his folding wheelchair. Dimensions folded are 29” (74 cm) high, 36” (92cm) back to front, so lying down in a boot that would be 29" deep and 36" across. Needless to say, in the 107 it has to stand upright and occupies the entire boot space, and is a right pain as it obscures half the rear window.

I would like to change to an automatic and something with some suspension - the 107 seems not to have been fitted with this optional extra(!)

If this helps, the best car I ever owned was a Renault 16 TS, nothing has matched it since for comfort and fun of driving. Budget is up to £4000 plus what I can get for the 107.

Check out a Honda Jazz CVT-7, because the 'magic' rear seat squabs fold upwards allowing easy transportation of the wheelchair in the centre of the car.
