Potholes damaged my car - can I seek compensation?

A local road running through Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire is very severely potholed. Beds County Council has marked the potholes on its patch for repair, whilst Bucks hasn't. The Bucks stretch has the worst potholes, including two deep ones in the carriageway that are invisible after dark and which have damaged my car. How can I seek reimbursement from the local authority?

Look on www.fixmystreet.co.uk and www.potholes.co.uk to check if the potholes have been reported. If they have, and they have not been repaired within a reasonable time, you have a claim. If they are not reported, photograph them and report them via both sites.
