Is there a known fault with the Volkswagen 2.0-litre turbodiesel engine?

I have heard that there is a known fault in the Volkswagen 2.0-litre turbodiesel engine, which I have in my 2008 Skoda Octavia, which causes it to cut out. Do you know about this and why there has not been a recall? Can you tell me which the faulty part is? Should I go straight to Skoda and ask them to fix it for no cost to me?

There is a problem with the oil pump drive of 2004-2007 2.0TDI PD engines in A4s, A6s, Passats and Superbs. There is also a TSB 'recall' on injectors for this engine, but if you do not regularly take your car to a Skoda dealer he would have no way of knowing that you owned it.
