Can I disconnect the alarm in my Volkswagen Passat?

The alarm on my Passat keeps going off. I do not want to spend money on diagnostics as my experience is that these problems reoccur. Is it possible for me to immobilise it completely? If so, how?

You can minimise the effects of air pressure on the sensors inside the car by switching the vents to recirculate, closing all closable vents, turning the heater to maximum heat and directing the airflow to the footwell. This has always worked for me in Volkswagens in the past. Unless the culprit is a spider, or a moth.
