Which winter tyres should we fit to our Toyota Auris hybrid?

We have recently changed from a 4x4 to a Toyota Auris Hybrid and, given your advocacy of winter tyres, are looking to have them fitted. The dealer has recommended Yokohama 215/45 R17 91V, at a cost each of £160 plus VAT. Is this a good recommendation in terms of both performance (grip) and wear, or is there better? They have also offered the option to have a change and storage facility or have the winter tyres fitted to a new set of alloys. Aside from cost, do you have a view on this?

The alternative is to fit the standard 15-inch wheels and deeper profile tyres, but Auris hybrids seem to drive best on 17s.

Decent combination of ride and handling that might suit some people better than a harder sprung Golf or a Civic. A few inches taller than a Golf of Focus so easier to get in and out.
