Which petrol car to replace my Rover 75?

The time has come for me to part with my 2003 Rover 75 CDTi Tourer, probably the best car I've ever owned, and I'd be very grateful for your opinions on a suitable replacement. Occasionally I need a capacious load-lugger and regularly I need a long-legged, comfortable cruiser. I am seriously considering the Skoda Superb Elegance Estate, but which engine to choose? I'm now down to about 8000 miles a year so I think I should go for a petrol engine, but is the 2.0TFSi worth the extra compared with the 1.8TSi? I would really like an automatic. Have you any thoughts on the DSG option on these cars?

I don't like the DSG because of the way it can hesitate when emerging from side roads and when entering roundabouts. The 1.8 160TSI is good enough. The 2.0 200+ PS TSI is better still. Both engines are now chain cam. The Mondeo 2.0 Ecoboost estate (also chain cam) with Getrag Powershift transmission is a better combination if you want an auto. It's the same type of transmission as the DSG, but without the built-in brake switch fault.
