Spare wheel supply on a new vehicle

Honda is unable to supply a spare wheel as specified on my order placed and delivered in December. I have the previous year (2012) spare kit fitted but due to the new type of Lithium Ion battery it does not fit properly - boot floor is raised by two inches each side.

Honda now says a spare is not available except on a factory order - but not for the UK - only USA, Slovakia and Bulgaria, where a spare is a legal requirement.

This whole saga has been poorly managed by Honda with little or no information for some time.

I have told the dealer I want to reject the car but he is reluctant to take possession of it. Can I reject it?

No, you cannot reject the car because of a change of manufacturer spec that is out of the control of the supplying dealer. Johnson v HWM Kingston Crown Court 1997
