What new small diesel car?

I currently drive a 52 plate Mini Cooper and am looking for advice on what to get next.

I have recently started a new job so am doing a 40 mile each way commute now.

I have owned the MINI for 2 years and have had a mixed experience. Good to drive, but some expensive faults over that time.

I am looking to change as I now receive a car allowance and with the longer commute I am looking at a diesel.

Being 25 with plenty of no claims insurance is not an issue.

I am undecided on what to buy and if i should go for new or nearly new (car has to be under five years old due to company policy).

What would you suggest?

Toyota Yaris 1.4 D-4D, pre-DPF model. That's the best small diesel 4 - 5 years old.
