Engine failure on a Volkswagen Passat

My son has a Volkswagen Passat on 05 plates 2.0 TDI sport with 102k. the oil pump has just failed and the new part is £1200 without fitting. the car did end up running for a few minutes after the red light came on. Our garage, who I do trust, thinks there is likely to be further damage to the turbo and possibly engine. To repair it is likely to cost up to £2000. Is there an engine specialist you might recommend to fit a reconditioned engine instead?
