Flashing glow plug light and limited revs

I was driving my 54-plate Honda Accord 2.2 CDTi Executive today, and as I accelerated to go onto the motorway, I got to 2000 revs and the glow plug light started flashing - and I couldn't get over 2000rpm.

I know it's cold, but not sure what is causing this. Eventually got up 70mph (downhill) and put the cruise on, however, when going uphill again the speed was not maintained.

Any ideas gratefully received.

Well sounds as though you are going into "limp mode". Normally a diagnostic check would be carried out to identify what the problem is. We would suggest that it may come up with the code P1065,which would indicate that the Fuel filter needs changing. When was the last time this was done, and was a genuine Honda filter used( it should have been) .
You may want to get the diagnostic done first, or you could of course just go for the filter, but if you are getting a local garage to do it, then either take your own pre bought Honda filter or if a dealer insist that they sue genuine parts.
