Used Car Warranty Issue

My 2003 Volkswagen Golf is currently in the garage awaiting repair. The problem I'm told is that the Camshaft has failed and damaged the Cam Followers. As a result a new shaft, eight new followers, etc. etc. are required.

I have a used car warranty, which specifically says that Camshaft and Cam Followers ARE covered - but the warranty company are refusing to pay out claiming this is 'wear and tear'. Should this be considered 'wear and tear' on a 93k mile engine, which one could reasonably expect to cover 200k miles, plus.

Try suing whoever sold you the warranty for the full cost of the repair on the grounds that the warranty was not of satisfactory quality because it did not cover something it expressly stated was covered.

Start via www.moneyclaim.gov.uk

Remember to sue whoever SOLD you the warranty, not the warranty provider itself. But do tell both the supplier of the warranty and the warranty provider that this is what you propose to do before you do it. One or other of them may capitulate.
