Issues with my used Smart car.

I purchased a car from a dealer 5 weeks ago. At the time he had said he had replaced all the plugs but if had problems to bring the car back. 2.5 weeks later thecar broke down and I had it towed back to the dealer to be fixed. He has had it for nearly 3 weeks now and is saying that his warranty company won't cover the cost and has asked me to contribute to it. He hasn't fixed it yet and has said that I have broken the engine by over reving it - which I haven't done!

I am a careful driver, and lets be honest it's a smart car you couldn't boy race it if you tried!

He is really dragging his heals about fixing it, I have refused to pay any money as he told me it was to do with the plugs and coils. But I can't seem to get an answer about when my car will be fixed and when I will get it back.

This happened so soon after purchase that you can hold the dealer liable. See: www.honestjohn.co.uk/faq/consumer-rights/
