Replacing a Skoda Octavia Scout

I need a replacement for a 2010 Skoda TDi Octavia Scout (which has been a very good car - have loved the elevated seating position which is a must in my new car).

I am looking now as the Scout took over 6 months to arrive and I am looking to replace the Scout in June 2013. I do 15000 miles a year on A, B & Minor roads in Wales. Skoda will not say if they will have a scout version of the Rapid or 2013 launch of the new Octavia (but it would seem the new Octavia scout will be a lot bigger and the current Scout is a perfect size vehicle for me).

So please can you suggest a replacement - I have looked at the New 1.7 Diesel Kia Sportage and New Qashqai+2 1.6 dci. I am looking at a new car. 4X4 or 2 wheel drive, but elevated driving position a must.

If 4WD isn't essential, then the KIA Sportage 1.7 diesel. It's powerful enough, and sensationally good looking. But the Qashqai's Renault 1.6DCI 130 is the most advanced small diesel engine in the world, pending the arrival of Honda's new 1.6iDTEC next year, that will also go into a 2WD version of the CR-V.
