Replacing an old Peugeot 405?

Wish to replace 405TD estate. Must have similar comfort seats & ride. Prefer diesel & model which can be maintained by experienced mechanic.

Minimal computer reliance preferred, so this possibly means 8 yrs or older. Was looking at 406 exec Est 2.0 HDI, but noted it came 117 out of 137 for problems.

I like estates but hatchback is OK. I am 70 shortly. It must be something which is good to drive (like the 405) and gives fuel consumption like the 405 if possible. 5 seats. I would 'think' BMW but the seats are no way near as good as the Pug in my experience.

Taxi drivers are very happy with the 406 2.0HDI. I've been in them that have done 200k + and they felt very good. Far better than the subsequent 407, which has a different engine.
