Handbrake seized

Can adjusting the handbrake cause the rear calipers to seize? The reason i'm asking is that I had the handbrake adjusted on my MR2 and I was told the brakes were okay, then a week later after not driving it I noticed a lot of heat coming from the rear passenger side caliper. I took it back and they told me the caliper had seized and I would have to pay to have it replaced. I purchased the car from with a three month warranty, now expired. I have now purchased a warranty from warranty direct, after this happened, so not covered. I am in process of having my fiance company who financed the car for me. Are the garage at fault? I had no caliper problems before they adjusted the handbrake

It seized because after having had it adjusted you left the parking brake hard on. Driving it like that will have made it worse. Difficult to say how much blame to attach to Jemca who merely did what you asked.
