Petrol or diesel C-Class?

I do 15,000 miles a year, daily 15 or less round trips, with 70 mile runs about once a fortnight and longer holiday runs. I have run a Mercedes C220 CDI auto for 9 years, now on 135,00 miles and now considering a change.

I am concerned whether a diesel with dpf is suitable for my mileage. Can I go for a 2 yr old C 200 CDI or would a C180 CGI petrol be a better option? Also considering a similar age Lexus is250 auto? What would be better as a long term purchase, the Merc or Lexus?

Probably still is, MBs don't have a lot of DPF problems unless regularly driven very short runs, and a Mercedes auto avoids dual mass flywheel problems.
