Lexus IS250 - will big wheels ruin it?

I was considering buying a Lexus IS250,nearly new for £23000.

However I have been increasingly put off by comments concerning the Low Profile Tyres(225x45x17) and their adverse effect on ride quality and road noise.

16 inch wheels are only an option on the CT 200h but utilize a narrower profile tyre (205) and may not be suitable?

Are you aware of any other cars of similar refinement and specification that I could consider?

Nothing else is as refined.

But the IS250 was originally available on 16" wheels with deeper profile tyres (1 think 205/55 R16s, so these could be retrofitted by the dealer. You would have to inform your insurer of the 'modification'.
