What do you think of the Nissan 350Z and Honda S2000?

My wife and I (in our late 50s) want a 'fun' car. We have £8,000 to spend and we're looking at either a Nissan 350Z or a Honda S2000. Your recommendation would be appreciated.

Chalk and cheese. A 350Z has the grunt and the handling, but quite an agricultural gearbox and can go through clutches. An S2000 has to be revved very hard to perform well and early S2000s had disconcertingly vague, over-assisted power steering. You’ll get a 350Z coupe for £8,000, but a roadster will be more. All S200s were roadsters apart from the GT, which still had a removable hardtop.

I own a 09 plate Scirocco GT TDi 140, but fancy a fun cabrio that can be used as an everyday vehicle. I've £20,000 to spend, in addition to trade-in. Any suggestions?
