Peugeot 307 with a gearbox problem
I am looking at buying a 2005 Peugeot 307 HDI with 108k on the clock. Apparently it sometimes crunches going into third gear, but no other gear. It doesnt pop out of gear, just crunches getting it. How much of a worry is there? What do you think are the potential problems and costs to rectify?

Will be a worn or damaged synchromesh cone. Repairing will involve stripping the transmission. So best leave it but allow for this in the price you pay.
