Car Clocking

I conducted a HPI check on my car prior to selling and found out that it had been clocked.

I bought the car in March 2009 with just 16(!) miles on the clock, the documentation states this also, it was first registered in March 2008.

The HPI confirmed that in July 2008 the car had covered 3053 miles belonging to the British Vehicle Rental Leasing Association (BVRLA) - 8 MONTHS PRIOR TO ME BUYING!

The company I bought the car from (well known dealer) said that they had been the owner since registration and I am 1st private owner.

Can anybody give me any guidance as I am unsure. Do I have a case to take to trading standards etc?

I also believe that the car may of done more than 3053 as there is an 8 month window till I bought it!

I have all paper work, which doesn't add up!

Yes, take the case to Trading Standards and see if they have sufficient interest in pursuing it.
