Replacing DMF and clutch

I have an Focus 1.8 TDCI with 160.000 miles. I was going to replace the DMF and clutch (release bearing is shot) but the other day I was reversing and it just popped out of gear. Before spending all the cash on the expensive repair I would like to know if the popping out of gear problem can be related or is there something else faulty in the gearbox. The release bearing is so bad that the clutch doesn't always disengage 100% and the vibrations in first and second it feel like you are driving over a road with slits across it until you get the revs up so the DMF must be well gone also. I'm not using the car at this time but was hopping to fork out the cash for the DMF+ clutch and then get another 60-80k miles out of it. Do you have experience with the 1.8 TDCI with that kind of mileage? Do the give a lot of trouble? So far all I have had to do is an Alternator and a Turbo hose so i can't complain

Well you have done well so far if the car has done 160k. The fault of jumping out of reverse could be related to the problem with the clutch fault. However it could also be that the linkage is worn or that you have weak spring tension on the selector rod. If you are as you say having the DMF replaced then it may be prudent to get the gearbox serviced as well,if as you say you intend to do another 80k.
