Choice of cars for the disabled
I get mobility allowance but cannot afford to fill the tank regularly and feel that a new car every three years is a waste, I have managed to reduce my miles per year to around 6K. I am thinking along the lines of a classic car with reasonable mpg (30-40mpg?) and something that makes you smile when you get in it!

Morris Minor. Citroen 2CV. VW Beetle.
But can you drive one?
Alternatively, thinking bigger, £3k to £4k buys a Rover 75 2.0CDI diesel and these are likely to assume classic status fairly soon.

Cheap to buy and run. Easy to maintain. Full of character and loved by those who own them. Plenty around.
A fine looking car from all angles, until the 2004 facelift. Destined to become a 'classic'. 2.0 diesels proving to be good long life cars with excellent clubs and spares back-up. Up to 4 stars.
