The end of his teves

I read with interest the e-mail headed "Half Braked". I too have had DSC failures on two BMW E90 Series cars. One was registered May 2006, the other Jan 2007. Speaking to BMW mechanics at my local franchise it is common knowledge that failures of the DSC units in cars registered 2006/7 are fairly frequent. The supplier of these items produced sub standard items. I wrote letters to Customer Services Bracknell on both occasions regarding the comments to be firmly told that there were no problems and that these failures were isolated incidents. Whilst both the failures were rectified under warranty on both occasions no replacement units were in stock in UK and the waiting time for repairs was 2 weeks and 1 week. BMW must know that there are defective units and should have some form of recall of the affected cars-failing that maintain an adequate stock of replacement units in UK

It's now covered in enough detail in the relevant entries in car by car
breakdown at www.honestjohn.co.uk The faulty units are Teves, not Bosch, and VW is replacing them FOC on properly serviced Tourans, but strangely not on Golfs. Don't know about BMW yet.
