Cornish pasting

We drove our classic Riley 300 miles to Cornwall to be the bridal car for a friend's wedding, only for some idiot, who was clearly driving without due care and attention, to reverse into us, stoving in the front wing and passenger door. After some emergency repairs, we were able to proceed with the wedding. The police checked insurance on both vehicles but took no further action. Meanwhile I am criminalised for driving at 35mph in good conditions, harming no one. Where is the justice?

Your insignificant 35mph infringement makes money for the state. Pursuing whoever crashed into you costs the state. End of story.
