Advanced and be counted

As promised, my experience with the IAM Drive Check 55 you recommended me to take. I received a letter within a couple of days of booking, selected a local branch and e-mailed them. It took a few days to hear back but the booking was simple once I made contact. Around 45 minutes driving on a variety of roads, and 25 minutes discussion, proved conclusively that my driving isn't as good as I would like it to be. No serious problem though - indeed I got top marks for my speed control. One very interesting aspect was that the IAM approach to driving on open roads is that you can use all of the road providing you can see far enough. I do normally use the road where I can but was on my best behaviour for the test, so must have seemed a bit timid. Altogether a very worthwhile experience, which I recommend highly. I am now considering the IAM’s "Skill for Life" course which, at £139 for ten mixed theory and practice sessions, seems outstanding value. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
