Coldly called

My daughter bought new an 04 Nissan Terrano from Motorpoint of Derby. She was recently cold-called by the AA who asked to give her an insurance quote. When she mentioned that the car might be an import the AA said that no UK insurer would give a quote for an imported car. What do you make of this?

Twaddle. Completely untrue. But you should demand to know how the AA got hold of your phone number because the method it used to obtain it probably breaches the Data Protection Act.
