Ass felt

I have a VW Tiguan SE and find that I get a hard-core jiggerly ride. I remember you suggesting in your column a particular tyre that would give a softer more comfortable ride - what were they? The current standard tyre fitted is 235/55 R17. Would it help to fit 235/65 R17 on the same wheels and might there be any adverse effects?

235/65 R17s will have a greater rolling circumference and throw out your speed reading. Possibly cause other problems like ABS/ESP as well. To fit deeper profile tyres you have to go down a wheel size and make sure the rolling circumference is the same. But first, try the very simple expedient of dropping the tyre pressures just a little bit.
