I am looking for a sporty car around a 1.4 to a 1.6 litre engine, what would you suggest?

Abarth 500. On standard 16" wheels. Much more fun than a MINI Cooper. But that assumes you can actually get one. (They are in short supply.) Another possibility is the new RenaultSport Twingo Gordini.

Huge fun to drive with great handling, zesty performance from turbocharged 1.4-litre engine, plenty of scope for personalisation.
