Winter Tyres

I've been reading quite a bit about these winter tyres and I'm pretty convinced from what I've read, that they are worth having - particularly if we keep getting more snow in the winters ahead. However, I would appreciate your advice.

My Kuga is brand new and is currently fitted with 235/50 Continental Conti Contact Premium 2's on 18" rims. I am prepared to swap over the tyres for winter, changing back in the spring. As I plan to keep the car for at least three years I'm sure I'll get the use out of all the tyres.

The question is, can winter tyres be used throughout the year? If so when the Continentals finally wear out I could maybe simply stick to winter tyres and cut out the swapping.

Also, is there a particular winter tyre you would recommend?

No. You can get all weather tyres can that are not quite as good as winter tyres in winter nor quite as good as summer tyres in summer. You can get Pirelli Sotto Zero 245/50 R18 winter tyres.
