In the CBCB about the Toyota Avensis, HJ mentions that earlier models had a problem with high oil consumption due to a bore liner problem and/or being fitted with slightly undersize pistons.

Do any one know from which Model Year this problem was fully resolved?

I have read of this problem having affected cars upto Model Year 2004 (54).

Any one knows of any later models being affected?
