Does the heated rear window work?

On Xantias, these are fed from the same circuit on then ignition switch which is not man enough and burns out - the fix is to fit a relay to handle the load. On later Xantias though, there is a factory fit relay - but I lost the switching feed to this relay (for reasons unknown) - ran in a new feed and all has been well since.

I have exactly this problem, did anyone find out the cause?

Check fuse f40 (40 amp) ac/heater control module this can only be checked with engine
running if no voltage at fuse 40 then you most likely have a faulty ignition barrel
(common fault) Assuming the above checks are ok with engine idling you should be
getting a 12v feed to blower motor red wire. This heater motor is earthed through
control module (common fault) The controlmodule sits to the right hand side of blower
viewed from passanger side and has 2 multi plugs green in colour hope this helps

Hi Mickey Bo. I have this exact problem and I don't have a feed on the red live, but I do at the 40A fuse. I am guessing this is now the control module. What exactly is the fault with the control module and how would I fix it?

00 2.0 Heater Blower Motor Not Working - FIXED - Afoder67

I thought I would update this, as I haev had my problem fixed!

The problem, was the sensor had stuck to closed which was fixed by a mechanic who happened to be looking at my fault with more care.
This is ensuring you have checked the blower motor actually works by running both 12V+ & - from the battery to either terminal on the blower fan.

Solution:

Using a 12v test (Prong type) with a crocodile end, push the prong into thick BROWN wire and touch the clip to any bare metal surfce (door pillar) and the short to earth clciked the sensor and my blowers came back to life.

This is not to say that it will work for everyone, but this had me foxed for a long time

Hi,

Can you confirm the location of the "thick BROWN wire" please? I'm having the same issue and have checked all of the above (fuses, fan, etc.); just going to try your trick of re-setting (shorting) the sensor, but need to be sure of the location of the "thick BROWN wire" I'm dealing with.

Thanks.
