Car has no problem starting, but when accelerating it cuts out. Sometimes 4 or 5 times in a 10 mile trip. Sometimes you can feel it falter and then cut out, other times it's a pretty hard cut!
The car always starts up straight afterwards, and all the warning lights go out after a few seconds.
I have had the fault codes read and the only code logged is P3002 which is a manufacturer specific code. I googled and on some toyotas (same engine) it means HV ECU malfunction?
I tried disconnecing the MAF and running the car, but it still cuts out.
Any more help or advice warmly received.

Codes are car - and even system - specific.
P3002/BMW 19993 - Fuel rail pressure control. Pressure too low.
The symptom would suggest a pressure control or tank fuel pump/fuel-pump power feed issue - maybe a relay?

I took the inspection covers off the tank fuel pump last night to check that all the pipes were ok. I have read that the return hose can sometimes come adrift. Everything looks OK, both sides of the tank were equally full of diesel, and the pump is running OK.
Are there any other tests I can do with regards the fuel pressure etc. ? Do you know which relays are likely to cause problems?
I have now bought a new fuel filter, which I am about to fit now! I doesn't look like the inner wheel arch trim has ever been off and the car has done 95,000 miles.....so it's probably well overdue!

Hi - we have a two year old Mini One with 4000 miles and has consistently cut out. Two weeks ago at this mileage it had its first service but over last couple of days started cutting out and the engine warning light came on yellow. Mini sent guy to investigate but he did not have machine to extract fault code, two days later second came and plugged car to his reader. After some time he removed the oil filler cap and it looked like when I had a car years ago with a head gasket that failed - it looked like someone had tipped a jar of mayo in it.
We have been told car safe to drive
The car is due into BMW main agent Friday for them to emove the Mayo ! - any comments please welcome

Hi - we have a two year old Mini One with 4000 miles he removed the oil filler cap and it looked like someone had tipped a jar of mayo in it.
I suspect with only 4,000 miles covered in 2 years, the car is only used for short journeys? That'll be the cause of the mayo if so. The oil isn't getting hot enough to burn off any moisture. I suspect the mayo has blocked the engine breather, causing it to cut out.
