Hi all,
I was hit a month ago on tghe passenger side,it did do quite a bit of damage ,so send it for repair.They had to take the dashboard off in order to repair it,so now that the car is repaired the radio does not work. I checked on the radio booklet ,but could not get the Radio Code.
I was quoted £28.00 to get the code from the Dagenham Fords,which I think its quite a lot of money.
I have used 9 attempts to open the radio and have failed ,I have one more attempt to open it,if it failes the radio will lock.
Have you guys out there got any idea how to get the code!

IIRC there are lots of folks on a Ebay who will give you the code for about £5.

There is a little perforated tear out bit on the inside of the radio books cover where you are supposed to write the code down, tear it out and keep it safe. Does it look like this has been torn out of your book?
Silly as it sounds have a look on the back of the radio or the underside of the ash tray, it might have been writen down there.

Why have you had 9 attempts at it when you don't know the code ?????
If one more attempt is going to lock it then the best course of action would be to go to the dealers, give them your name and address and proof of ownership of the vehicle (or radio) and pay them to obtain the correct code or to recode it for you.
Alternatively you could look in your local paper for radio decoders.
The dealers will usually give you the radio code for free if you have any work done on the car which involves disconnecting the battery, as they have to obtain the code themselves anyway if you don't have it.

In which case the repair hasn't been completed. Why didn't you return to the bodyshop that did the work and get them to pay for the code to be obtained?
