Alloy Wheels

I have an E-Class Coupe first registered 12.6.09 which has now covered 18,088miles.

A few months ago I noticed degradation of the rear alloys and my local dealership photographed them and emailed the pictures to MB. As a result on 12th April two new alloys were fitted under warranty.

A short while later I noticed some degradation to the front alloys and the same procedure followed and on 9th May two new alloys were fitted under warranty. I have to add that I was informed that MB may decline the application but this would be done if there was any visible damage to the wheels i.e. if they had been kerbed but they were in pristine condition apart from the degradation. Why the wheels had to be taken off and replaced by new ones prior to being assessed is a mystery to me!

I have now received an invoice from my local dealership informing me that the claim for one wheel has been denied and a bill for £553.20. What are your views on this please?

The denied claim must be because that wheel was damaged by kerbing.
