What small car is cheap to insure for a teenager with low running costs?
What small car do you recommend for around £6000 - £6500. It must have five doors and five seats. My 18 year old son will also use the car so must be cheap on insurance. I can't decide between a Ford Fiesta, Toyota Yaris, Renault Clio or Honda Jazz.

Reliability of Fiesta has decreased due to a spate of driveline problems. In order of reliability I'd say Jazz, Yaris, Clio.

Fairly big boot by class standards, tempting hybrid option, Toyota has an epic reliability record.

Bigger and better looking Clio an improvement on previous model, both 90 TCe petrol and 90 dCi diesel under 100g/km CO2.

Unrivalled practicality and versatility. Plenty of room for four adults to travel in comfort. Surprisingly fun to drive, especially 1.5 i-VTEC Sport.

Most versions good to drive especially ST-Line but significantly more refined, comfortable and practical, comes with active safety technology as standard.
